Please join ASCE OC Transportation Technical Group at the SpaceX headquarters in Hawthorne, CA, Earth, as we embark on a tour of their Space Exploration Technologies (“SpaceX”) facility. Tour will embark at 9:30 AM, Saturday, September 12th, and tour is anticipated to last about an hour. Due to the sensitive nature of the facility, there may be a need to reschedule last-minute to our contingent tour date of Saturday, September 19th (same time). So please provide us your contact information so we can coordinate with you if such an eventuality should arise. Space (as in availability) is very limited (unlike in “Space”), so please consider this before confirming your attendance. We are including a standy list once the available spaces are spoken for. As we may have a last minute change of an attendee or two, we will be collecting a nominal $20 tour fee at the door (which will go towards student scholarships). We will meet as a group 15 minutes prior to the tour near the entrance to the SpaceX facility (on Crenshaw Blvd just south of I-105) in order to enter as a group. A parking map is provided for your convenience and the tour address is Rocket Road, Hawthorne, CA. Because of the Air Force and Government contracts held by SpaceX, their tours have had to become a little more restrictive in who and what’s allowed inside. See tour restrictions below before confirming your attendance: Visitors must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents All U.S persons must bring either a driver’s license, state ID card, or US Passport when checking in (no other form of ID will be accepted) Permanent residents must bring their I-551 Permanent Resident Card (green card) when checking in No cameras, pictures, video, or note taking can be taken on the tour Cell phones can be brought inside but must remain in your pockets No phone use, emailing, or social media on the tour No briefcases, luggage, large purses, or large bags are allowed inside When inside you must stay with the group, you cannot wander off on your own SpaceX also needs proprietary non-disclosure agreement (NDA) information filled out by the end of the day Tuesday 9/8 as they need the names in advance. A signature will also be needed on the form the day of the tour. We will have all the information completed on a single form for your signature, but need this information at the time of registration (you can provide your last 4 digits of SSN at the door as well).
