Due to the State Budget Crisis, Chris McKenzie is unable to join us as he needs to address urgent issues in Sacramento. However, a great replacement speaker will step up to address us on the same topics. Please plan to join us to hear from Dwight Stenbakken, the Deputy Executive Director for the League of California Cities. Please see below for the lunch meeting information - the time, date and location all remains the same. Dwight Stenbakken is the Deputy Executive Director for the League of California Cities. The League is an advocate for city issues in both the state legislature and congress. There are 480 incorporated cities in California. He has worked for the League for about 29 years. During that period of time he has held several positions that include Legislative Director, and Legislative Representative (lobbyist) handling the areas of transportation, human resource and pension legislation. He has also been directly responsible for advocacy on city issues in the state budget process. He oversees the League’s legislative, policy development and grassroots programs and has assumed direction over the League’s education and training programs. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and holds a Masters Degree from the University of Arizona.
