We will be carpooling from parking area to construction site. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is Required: Hard Hat, Vest, Safety Glasses, Closed Toe Shoes - This is an active construction site! ASCE OC Branch is pleased to invite members to attend a Presentation/Technical Tour of Cow Camp Road / Bridge in Rancho Mission Viejo (RMV). As part of RMV's "Ranch Plan", Cow Camp Road will serve as a major access route to new communities being developed by the ranch for Planning Area 2 (PA-2). The presentation / tour will tentatively follow the schedule below: 1:00 PM - Meet / Sign In Meet Tour Coordinatiors: Gene Strojek & Tammy Lee at the Parking Area (Ortega Hwy @ Antonio Pkwy) Consolidate Transportation and Sign Access Waivers 1:30 PM - Design and Construction Overview (RMV Field Office) Gene Strojek - RMV Overview (Ranch Plan, Agency/Builder Coordination) Jack Morales - Construction Methods & Support 2:15 PM - PA-2 Field Tour Steve Shea & Scott Leetzow - Tour Guides Discuss Grading Operations, Oak Canyon, and Overview of Improvements 3:00 PM - Cow Camp Road Bridge Ivan Benavidez - Guide through Bridge Deck and Bridge Foundation 3:45 PM - Drive through Sendero 4:00 PM - Return to Parking Area 4:30 - 6:30 PM - Social / Happy Hour in San Clemente (Location TBD). Informal gathering to enjoy a later afternoon near the beach. Presenters/Guides: Gene Strojek serves as Sr. Project Manager for RMV - Community Development Team, where he oversees all the final engineering and mapping designs for the project as well as the coordination with the construction team, merchant builders and agencies. Prior to working at RMV, Gene worked at CH2MHill, William Lyon Homes, and Southern California Edison. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona. Ivan Benavidez Jr., P.E. currently works for Fountainhead/Murrow CM and is the Resident Engineer for the Cow Camp Bridge. Ivan has 10 years of previous experience with Caltrans as well as 10 years as a consultant. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University and an M.S. in Civil Engineering from CSU Long Beach. Tyrone Taylor Jr. is also part of Fountainhead/Murrow CM and is the Structure Representative for the Cow Camp Bridge. Tyrone has a 8 years of previous experience with Caltrans and 8 years as a consultant. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from CSU Long Beach. Jessica Byrd also with Foundtainhead/Murrow CM is the Office Engineer for Cow Camp Road. Jessica has 3 years of experience as a consultant. She holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona.
