| Details | TOPIC - California High Speed Rail Update The ASCE Orange County Branch invites you to attend the December Luncheon featuring Noopur Jain, PE, SE the Statewide Engineering Manager for The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CAHSR). The CAHSR (http://www.hsr.ca.gov/) is a high-speed rail system under construction in California that is planned to connect the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) in Anaheim and Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles iwth the Trnasbay Trasit Center in San Francisco via the Central Valley, with the trip expected to take about 2 hours and 40 minutes. Future plans will seek to connect to stations to San Diego via the Inland Empire, and to Sacramento. CAHSR will operate on completely grade separated tracks for the entirety of its route with speeds of up to 220 miles per hour (350 km/h), with early ridership projections for the San Francisco to Los Angeles leg at 28.4 million. The project is owned and managed by the state of California through the CAHSR Authority. About The Speaker: Noopur Jain, PE, SE Noopur Jain has been serving the Transportation industry for 18 years, as the Statewide Engineering Manager for CAHSR she brings unique leadership and technical expertise from public and private sectors to the CAHSR Authority program. She is a collaborative leader dedicated to serving the community by providing innovative and creative solutions to engineering problems with positive results. Noopur oversees all engineering aspects of the Southern California region. This region poses complex technical challenges covering over 300 miles of the HSR system with its unique geologic conditions, multiple stakeholder involvement, and tunneling and seismic fault zones. She also serves as the statewide manager for Complex Structures responsible for planning, strategy, design, delivery and construction of long viaducts and complex structures. Noopur Jain is a registered professional and structural engineer and an active member of multiple professional, community and social organizations including WTS, ASCE, ASBI, TRB.
