Details | The ASCE Orange County Geo-Institute invites you to join us for a presentation by: Mr. David Albus, P.E., Principal, Albus-Keefe & Associates Mr. Albus will be presenting an overview on the principals of water flow through earth materials with an emphasis on infiltration devices such as open basins, shallow chamber systems, and dry wells. He will review the underlying theory and governing equation of saturated flow. He will discuss the most common field test procedures to measure permeability as well as the applicability of each. He will also discuss various methods of estimating permeability from laboratory correlations. Mr. Albus will discuss methods of estimating the infiltration rates and drawdown of shallow and dry well systems using both closed form solutions and computer simulations based the results of permeability testing. He will address methods to address modeling of multi-layered soil profiles and the lateral extent of saturation influence. He will conclude with a general discussion on incorporating these methods into the current LID proceedures. Don't forget: ASCE OC G-I does issue professional development hours (PDHs), and this event will be worth 1.0 PDH. We look forward to seeing you soon. Thanks, in advance, for your support. |
