We will do a short powerpoint presentation about civil engineering and then advise the students while they work in teams to construct lego buildings and test them on the earthquake "shake tables." You must be a civil engineering student or professional to volunteer. Volunteers will give a powerpoint presentation, each talking briefly about a discipline of civil engineering (10-15 minutes). Then the three classes will return to their rooms, with 1-2 volunteers in each room to lead the class in the lego shake table activity.
