The desalination plant will be located adjacent to the AES Huntington Beach Power Station and is scheduled to be operational by 2019. The Huntington Beach Desalination Plant has the potential to have significant economic benefits for the city of Huntington Beach and the region, including: Several hundred million dollars in economic stimulus over the life of the facility Creation of over 2,000 jobs during construction and 18 full-time jobs and 322 indirect jobs once the facility is in operation Poseidon Water is in the final phase of the project’s permitting process and is currently working with state agencies to secure the remaining development permits.
