| Details | Come join ASCE MLAB YMF for a hike in Griffith Park led by Ranger Ernie Ybarra. We will head off on a beginner hike (3 miles) from the Observatory to Mount Hollywood summit. Ranger Ernie will give us a brief history of the park in addition to information on the park's plants and trees. The hike begins at 8 a.m. at the Griffith Observatory (2800 E Observatory Ave - Los Angeles, CA 90027). We will meet near the restrooms in the parking lot. Please dress appropriately for the weather condition. Water, snacks, and a picnic lunch afterwards will be provided. For those interested, we will be exploring the observatory after lunch. Note: Admission to the Observatory building and grounds is FREE. There is a nominal charge for those that wish to see shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.
