| Details | Join ASCE MLAB and Los Angeles YMF in teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students about Civil Engineering! Volunteers will share Civil Engineering career experiences, introduce the engineering design process, and challenge the students to design and build a structure out of coffee straws and marshmallows that will resist a simulated earthquake on a battery-powered shake table. We expect about 50 students and 50 parents in attendance, so bring your co-workers and friends along to volunteer. No prior experience is required to volunteer.
