| Details | Join ASCE MLAB and Los Angeles YMF in teaching middle and high school girls in a mentoring program about Civil Engineering! Volunteers will share Civil Engineering career experiences, introduce the engineering design process, and challenge the students to design the tallest structure out of coffee straws and marshmallows to resist a simulated earthquake on a battery-powered shake table. We expect about 8 to 15 students in attendance, so bring your co-workers and friends along to volunteer. No prior experience is required to volunteer.
