Details | Light Rail and streetcar are making a strong comeback in several countries which abandoned them in the mid-20th century. The European and North American versions of modern at-grade urban rail have developed in different ways. Why should this be? And why has Australia, which mostly follows North American road engineering practice, adopted a light rail model much closer to the European version? Andy F. Wood, Technical Director of Light Rail at Arup will discuss these and technical issues drawn from his most recent projects Gold Coast Light Rail and Canberra Light Rail, as well as his 20 years’ experience on projects in the UK, France, Norway, Australia, and New Zealand. Join us on this next installment of MLAB's technical presentation series. Cost of event (Drinks and Snacks included): Members, Students - FREE, Non-members - $5 Deadline to register is June 11, 2015 and space is limited, so please register early.
