| Details | Join MLAB for a presentation focusing on seven aging flood control structures in the Los Angeles County Drainage Area. Our guest speakers will discuss the study efforts, which analyzed dam breach configurations and operating failure mechanisms. These modes of failure were linked with earthquake intensity variables such as magnitude, peak ground velocity and acceleration, and their probability of occurrence for a particular rupture. The analysis also included a damage modeling component to compare differences in flood extent. Free for Members, Life Members, and Students ($5 for non-members).
